About Jess
Jess Armitage is a clinical psychologist with experience in a range of settings including private hospitals, community health centres, alcohol and drug counselling services, domestic violence and sexual assault counselling services, child and family services, university clinics and private practice. In addition to individual psychotherapy, Jess has previously facilitated group therapy programs for individuals struggling with alcohol and drug use, worked as a case manager for at risk children and their families and provided acute crisis interventions for individuals escaping from high risk domestic violence situations.
Jess has been particularly influenced by contemporary psychoanalytic and humanistic theories that focus on understanding emotional and relational processes and shared human struggles. She is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a current member of the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She strives to provide her patients with a supportive, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship that fosters curiosity and care for one’s life.
